Japanese heavy metal band LOVEBITES “tore down the roof” with their latest performance at the Baltimore Soundstage on November 5, getting a huge reception from the American crowd.
The murmurs from the crowd waiting in line were occasionally interrupted by the growl of an electric guitar. The instrument thundered from inside the venue while LOVEBITES rehearsed sound checks. As the doors opened at eight, the line rushed into the venue, packed like sardines.
LOVEBITES made their debut in 2017 after forming together in 2016, creating their band with an all-female heavy metal band consisting of five members: Miyako, Asami, Haruna, Midori and Fami. Formerly consisting of six members, former bassist Miho would step down from the group to focus on her own future endeavors as Fami would take her place.
The band displayed crushing guitar riffs and drum breakdowns in albums such as “Clockwork Immortality,” "Awakening From Abyss” and more. The band amassed a heavy following as their American fan base continues to grow.
LOVEBITES headed to Baltimore, MD, during their U.S. “Eternal Phenomenon” tour. As fans packed the venue, the crowd changed in each direction as college students, children and elders were all in attendance.
The silhouettes of the musicians graced the stage not long before the quaking guitar riffs reverberated through the speakers and into the crowd as the band opened up with “Glory To The World.”

LED visuals of blue and white cosmic wolves swirled in the background as the lead singer, Asami, sang her haunting lyrics, “Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings...the fear of the unknown.”
Heads banged in unison along with the fast-paced instrumentals, taking the older crowd back into their youth momentarily.
The band delivered with their stage presence as the fans clapped along with the lead frontwoman during the performance. The environment was joyful as everyone swayed from side to side.
As the concert progressed, a swelling boom echoed from the bass as “Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'em Down)” started playing. The crowd erupted with excitement.
The bandmates shared different expressions of joy as one electric guitarist gnashed her teeth to the crowd and raised her guitar with pride, while the bassist smiled widely as she strummed without a care in the world. Lucky fans were able to take a piece of the concert home with them as the guitarists threw their picks into the crowd throughout the show.
One fan noted his experience catching one of them, stating, "It hit me in the f--- eye... but I still got it!" he described.
As the band concluded the show, fans looked around at each other before a “LOVEBITES” chant formed. Soon enough, the band returned to the stage as they expressed their desire to continue playing and played three additional songs before taking a group photo with the crowd and exiting the stage.
The band left with their signature catchphrase, “We are LOVEBITES and we play heavy metal!”
The band will continue their tour as fans await their next album release.
